Shree Atmasiddhi Shastra Anniversary

Shree Atmasiddhi Shastra Anniversary

18th October 2024

Aso Vad 1

Following a request from Shree Saubhagbhai of Sayla, Shrimad Rajchandra composed the great Atma Sidhi Shastra in the town of Nadiad, Gujarat. The 142 verses emerged in one sitting of less than 2 hours.

This composition explains the Jain path to Moksha. Besides being highly spiritual, it is also a classic of Gujarati literature and has been the subject of numerous translations, commentaries and is also studied at universities for doctorates in philosophy even today.

Background

Shrimad had sent a copy of the letter on 'The Six Spiritual Tenets' to Shri Saubhagbhai with an instruction to learn it by heart and to contemplate on its contents regularly. Due to old age, Saubhagbhai found it difficult to memorise the prose form of the letter and requested Shrimad to re-write the letter in rhythmic verse form so that he could easily memorise it and make it a part of himself.

During Bhadarva and Aso months of Vikram Samvat 1952, Shrimad spent his time in the jungles of Gujarat contemplating in solitude. From there he came to the town of Nadiad where a great event took place on the first day of the later half of the Aso month. When Shrimad returned from his day's outing at dusk, he called on Ambalalbhai: "Ambalal, light and hold a lantern".

Ambalalbhai, a great Truth seeker, humble as ever did as asked and stood by Shrimad's side with a lit lantern. Shrimad sat and started writing. A miraculous stream of inspiration full of profound spiritual insight began to flow. His sublime spritual state became his pen and the essence of his profound thinking became his ink. He began to compose verses with the potency to awaken slumbering souls. The 142 verses of Atma Siddhi Shastra had emerged in one sitting of less than two hours.

Mahavir Jayanti

"The greatest mistake of a soul is non-recognition of its real self and can only be corrected by recognising itself", preached Lord Mahavir.

Bhagwan Mahavir.jpeg

Mahavir Jayanti

21st April 2024

On this day we celebrate the birth of the 24th Tirthanker Shree Mahavir Bhagwan (Mahavir Janma Kalyanak).

The Kalpasutra text cites Kundagrama as the place where he was born. This site is believed by tradition to be near Vaishali, a great ancient town in the Gangetic plains.

After Mahavir was born, the god Indra came from the heavens, anointed him, and performed his abhisheka (consecration) on Mount Meru.

After he gained Kevalgnan, or supreme enlightenment Mahavir Bhagwan taught that the observance of the vows ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), asteya (non-stealing), brahmacharya (chastity), and aparigraha (non-attachment) is necessary to spiritual liberation. He gave the principle of Anekantavada (plurality of view points), Syadvada and Nayavada. The teachings of Mahavir Bhagwan were compiled in the Jain Agams.

The inner path of self-realisation that Bhagwan Mahavir practised, realised and taught, remains alive today in the hearts of enlightened teachers. They illuminate the path and help us: understand the essence of Mahavir's teachings and recognise the inner state of Bhagwan Mahavir, the supreme manifestation of the pure soul, our own true nature.

Raj Mandir and Shrimad Rajchandraji Pratishtha Mahotsav

4 - 10th March 2019

Shree Raj Saubhag Ashram, Sayla

Shrimadji was a beacon of truth, his every moment filled with equanimity. Despite his extreme detachment, Shrimad quietly lived the life of a householder and performed his duties towards his family and business. His heart overflowed with love and devotion and this manifested in his poetry and writings which were filled with the nectar residing in the agam scriptures. The verses and letters penned by Shrimad have quenched the thirst of many spiritual seekers, inspiring their journey on the path of spirituality. He was the last disciple of Lord Mahavir. He is our Lord and God, Param Krupalu Dev Shrimad Rajchandraji, the torch bearer, whose teachings have shown us the path to liberation in this kalyug era.

To enshrine him in the heart of all seekers a magnificent 9ft marble idol, in the padmasana pose, has been carved and will be consecrated in the new Raj Mandir in Raj Saubhag Ashram, Sayla. This pratishtha Mahotsav or consecration celebration will take place over 7 days from 4th to 10th March 2019.

The celebrations will include five poojans which will be held in the Raj Mandir during these days.

The consecration ceremony will take place on the 8th and 9th of March 2019.

All those who wish to be a part of this event are requested to reach by the 4th of March. We shall share the timetable of events on this page shortly.
